Miss Williams' Background

I grew up in Federal Way, Washington and studied Elementary Education and Spanish at the University of Portland in Oregon. I worked in a Spanish immersion classroom in Tigard, Oregon and taught kindergarten in Battle Ground, Washington. I moved to Renton last year and had the pleasure of teaching first grade at the amazing Issaquah Valley Elementary!

Along with a Bachelors in Education, I also studied English as a Second Language and received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University with a focus in reading intervention.

Some of my loves include coffee, hiking, reading, and spending time at home with my family and cat, Sadie.

I am passionate about teaching and so excited to begin this amazing program!

Mrs. Haase's Background

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and pursued a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Bilingual Education at Arizona State University.  I later received my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University along with a reading endorsement.  I taught Kindergarten for several years, 1st grade, 4th grade and later in my career as a reading specialist for students in grades K-3.

My family and I moved from Arizona to Washington State almost 3 years ago.  I had the opportunity to work as a long term substitute last school year at IVE and I am thrilled to be a part of the wonderful staff.  I helped begin dual language programs in Arizona and I’m very excited to have the opportunity to help launch this program at IVE.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and exploring Washington with my husband and three daughters.  I’m very excited about our new dual language program and am grateful for this opportunity!
